Biographical Info

Dr. Chen received his M.D. degree from Jefferson Medical College. He completed his Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He also served as Internist and Director of the Endoscopy Center at the Evans Army Community Hospital in Colorado.

Dr. Chen is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Gastroenterology. He also holds memberships in the American Gastroenterology Association and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. He has been practicing in Lancaster since 1992.

He is gifted in teaching, having received several “Teacher of the Year” awards by Resident Physicians of Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. He has also participated in basic and clinical research and has made presentations at national meetings of the AGA and ACG.  He has privileges at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital.

His special interests include teaching, medical ethics, mentoring students, and missions services in underdeveloped areas of the world, especially Asia.

He and his wife live in Lancaster.

Dr. Chen also serves as a deacon in his church and volunteers with several charitable organizations, including service to local international students.
